My Students

My students are in a Title I-funded school. That means that most of my students come from single-parent families with low incomes. They live with extended families. Many are dropped off early and picked up late.

Buying materials is difficult for many families.

They live on fixed incomes and it is difficult for many of them to come to school with what they need. They are a loving bunch of students this year. They seem to all get along with each other. I'm looking forward to this year.

My Project

Help me give my students a variety of snacks to help keep my kids' stomachs full. They are always complaining that they are hungry. My kids are four years old and have a lot of energy. Snacks can help them keep learning instead of thinking about being hungry.

A well fed child is a happy child.

The variety will keep them interested and focused during the day. Some of my students never have their own snacks, and look to the others that bring snacks in. It is great to have to give to the ones that don't have.
