My Project

Second grade is full of fun and adventure but little tummies get hungry throughout the day. We have made it a mission in our class that no child will ever have to focus on hunger or be distracted from their learning because they don't have a snack! Our school is a Title 1 school and often students rely on us for a snack during the day. I have utilized a snack cart for the past 2 years in order to ensure every kid in my class has a snack at snack time. I also have several students throughout the year that simply will not eat what is provided at school for breakfast or lunch. This is where the snack cart comes in!

No child should have to fight hunger while at school!

ALL students are guaranteed a snack and a juice or water each day. A small pack of cookies, chips, or fruit snacks can quickly get students back on track and ready to learn. My goal this year is to start off with a variety of snacks that I can organize in clear containers to help our snack transition go smoothly with little time on task lost!
