Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all come from the poorest neighborhoods in the city of Boston. My third graders are the sweetest and hardest working children! They love to learn, read, and write. They make me proud every day!

My classroom is an ESL classroom, where all my students speak other languages at home.

They are all new immigrants to the United States and many of them have had limited or interrupted schooling in their home countries. They enjoy coming to school each day to learn English and make friends.

My Project

Having healthy snacks available for my students will provide them with the energy and stamina to do their best all day long! All of my students come from low income households and receive free breakfast and lunch on school days. Many of them do not bring lunchboxes with a snack they can nibble on during the morning when their tummies are hungry.

I want to set my students up for success and allow them to eat when they need to.

My students will be able to focus on their assignments and not on their growling bellies! No student should suffer from hunger, ever!
