Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 25 amazing, talented first graders. First graders focus on learning foundational skills and putting them into context. They are ready and eager to learn. These 6 and 7-year-olds thrive on new knowledge to support their success.
Our school has roughly 65% of the students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
This makes it difficult to ask for and receive classroom donations from students and their families. With the items that I have requested, my students will have the ability to learn at their fingertips.
My Project
This project allows my students to maintain focus, rigor, and engagement throughout the days, weeks, and months of their first-grade year. The snacks such as crackers, pretzels, and animal crackers will be provided to the students so they are able to maintain the stamina needed to succeed in first grade.
These items will help support the learning of my students throughout the year.
