This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am in my 17th year of teaching, located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have a group of eager students, ready to learn!

I am a third grade teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district where students in our school are faced with many challenges.

What I have learned in my career is that children are resilient and can and will persevere when faced with such challenges. I am sure that my next group of students will be no different.Many of the students are coming to school each day without their basic needs being met. I have had students this year worry about where they would be staying at night or where their next meal is coming from. Although I may not have control over what my students are facing in their home life, I do have control over our classroom environment! I strive to make our room a safe, warm and loving environment.

With your help, we can provide my students will the necessary snacks to help fuel them through the day! For this project, I am asking for granola fruit snacks, applesauce, Goldfish, pretzels and other non-perishable foods.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
