They couldn't believe that total strangers from across the country bought all of these wonderful things for them. All of the supplies you have given us have really made inside recess and choice time (which they have to earn) more exciting and enjoyable. The games and toys have not only helped entertain the children but also provide opportunities for students to work together, take turns and spark creativity. The bean bag has become the classes favorite place to sit! Kids love it and they use it for flexible seating to do their work, a place to lay when they are feeling sad or sick. In fact, a few have even fallen asleep in it! I would have to say that one of the kids' favorite toys they were given was the playdough. Not only do the kids build with it but I have many kiddos who are easily stressed and love to just knead it in their hands and it helps them regulate. \r\n We cannot express enough as to how grateful we are to you for your kind generosity! The children you have helped do not always have the easiest of lives so the kindness you have shown them will have a lasting impact on them. When the boxes first arrived, the energy in our classroom was electric. My students were buzzing with curiosity, asking, \"Is that for us?\" and \"When can I try it?\" Seeing their faces light up as they realized these resources were specifically for their learning was a moment of pure joy. It has transformed our classroom into a true \"Science Work Zone\" where every child feels like a real scientist.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are using these resources to dive deep into hands-on investigation. For example, during a recent lesson, students used the new STEM microscope to look at plant materials and identify cells in the plant that allow for the intake of carbon dioxide from the plant. They aren't just reading about science anymore; they are looking at the things they are learning about —which is where the best learning happens. The materials have provided a level of engagement and critical thinking that was missing before.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve using our STEM microscope and standing desks for another unit in science, where we study decomposers. We are excited for this next part!
