Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Curiosity and determination are the marks of a good scientist. In my classroom, we will tap into our curiosity and engage in meaningful scientific phenomenon. My budding scientists will have the opportunity to explore their natural world and gain important life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.

Students in my classroom come from low-income/high-poverty neighborhoods, but their enthusiasm and determination are unfailing.

They have a desire for education and they work hard to explore our scientific phenomenon. This year we'll learn how to think LIKE a scientist and learn how to tackle hard problems. I know these skills will serve our students for the rest of their lives.

My Project

Our students are on the go all day. It is hard to go to class after class without a quick snack break. This is especially true the class period before lunch or towards the end of the day. By supporting my classroom you can help me offer my students a snack when they need it.

By eating a snack my students will be better able to stay focused on the work in class.

The requested items are a variety of different snacks, such as granola bars, crackers, and even a few treats, that I can offer to students when they need them. They snacks will also be given to students who stay after school to work on homework or engage in our afterschool MESA club.
