Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a Title I school in rural San Diego County, where 70% of our students only eat a school lunch all day. By early afternoon, my student's stomachs are growling and they have a difficult time focusing and completing their work.

By providing healthy snacks for my students to choose from each day, they will be able to concentrate on their work rather than worry about their hunger pains.

My first graders are eager to learn each day, but if their stomachs are empty, they have a hard time learning since they cannot focus on their work and their learning. These snacks will give them the ability to focus and do their best every day. They all have a positive attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our school's community.
