Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project develops critical skills that prepare students for future academic and career success, including problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and persistence. Through the engineering design process, students learn to think critically, test ideas, and improve their work based on evidence.

Students also gain experience with technology, data analysis, and real-world applications of STEM concepts, including robotics and astronomy.

We will use the Dwarf Labs Mini Smart Telescope and tripod to boost interest in space science. The included tripod stand will complete an astronomy STEM station for all our students to enjoy! Several of our District's MESA and STEAM programs would gain student experience when this project is implemented. These experiences help students make connections between classroom learning and potential future careers.

This telescope system will be a great community activity during STEM Family Nights, as the weather permits! This telescope is a great investment for out students to utilize during both academic and enrichment time.
