Small Prizes, Big Progress: Refilling My 5th Grade Reward Box

Help me give my students cool prizes for my classroom prize box that they will remember forever! These prizes will include things like stickers, sports balls, stress balls, fidgets, locker accessories, games, mini bluetooth speakers, fairy lights, etc!

My Project

My fifth graders are a special group of 60 students who come to school every day ready to learn and grow. Even though we are a low-income school and resources can be tight, my students never give up. They earn "Farrell Francs," which is our classroom money, by being kind to others, participating in class, and working hard on their lessons. They are at an age where they are growing up fast, but they still find so much joy in small rewards that make our classroom feel like a fun and safe place to be.

In our classroom, a simple prize is much more than a toy; it is a spark that turns a stressful day into a successful one.

This project will provide rewards that make a real difference in how my students feel and learn. Stress toys and scratch-and-sniff stickers help kids calm down and focus when they feel anxious or overwhelmed by a difficult task. Exciting items like over-the-door basketball hoops, mini Bluetooth speakers, and fairy lights make our classroom feel special and exciting. By saving their "francs" for locker accessories or bigger prizes, my students also learn how to set goals and be patient.

I have used this positive reward system for 13 years because I have seen firsthand how much it helps kids stay excited about school. However, providing prizes for 60 students every year is very expensive, and I have spent hundreds of my own dollars each year to keep the prize box full. Your support would mean the world to me because it allows me to keep this tradition going without the heavy personal cost. Your donation will help my students stay motivated, lower their stress, and remind them that their hard work is truly worth celebrating.
