In a world where so much of our curriculum is digital, something as simple as a working charger or a pair of headphones can be the difference between a student engaging with a lesson or being left behind. We use these tools daily for everything from reading assistance—where students listen to audio versions of complex texts—to recording group podcasts and comparing film clips to the novels we read. Before this project was funded, many of my students were struggling to navigate assignments on aging Chromebooks with broken trackpads. Now, with the new mouses, they can navigate their work with ease, removing a massive layer of frustration from their school day.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room when I brought out the new equipment was surprisingly high—you'd think I had handed out toys! To the students, the most exciting part was the reliability and the \"newness\" of the gear. Many of them have been limping along with broken chargers or borrowed headphones that only worked in one ear. One of my students, who had been falling behind because his trackpad was completely unresponsive, was almost moved to tears when I handed him a brand-new mouse. He went from being \"the kid who couldn't turn in work\" to the first one finished with his Google Classroom assignment that day. He told me, \"Ms. Farrell, I can actually click on things now!\"\r\n\r\nThis project has been especially transformative for my students who rely on writing motivation and focus. With the new headphones, they are able to tune out classroom distractions and dive into their \"writing zones,\" which has led to a noticeable increase in the length and quality of their essays. Furthermore, since our district no longer provides chargers, your donation has saved countless students from the anxiety of a \"dead\" device during a big project. You have provided the literal power and tools my students need to be successful, and we are so grateful for your support in keeping our classroom connected and productive.","fullyFundedDate":1771033734890,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-provide-the-technology-tools-stu/10024949/","projectTitle":"Help Me Provide the Technology Tools Students Need for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Farrell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3819473_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472430640387","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3819473"},{"teacherId":3819473,"projectId":10021657,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity in funding our classroom prize box project. When the boxes arrived and I unveiled the new rewards, the atmosphere in the room was electric; the kids' eyes truly lit up as they saw \"high-ticket\" items I normally could never afford on my own, like light-up speakers, locker mirrors, and fairy lights. My students are already strategizing on how to earn more \"Farrell Francs\" (our classroom currency), with many of them exclaiming things like, \"I don't have enough now, but don't you worry Ms. Farrell, I'm going to earn more by finding vocabulary words and working extra hard!\"\r\n\r\nThe impact on student motivation has been immediate and profound. I was especially moved by one particular student who often acts \"too cool\" for school incentives and can be difficult to motivate. I had added the mini basketball hoop to the project specifically with him in mind, and my gut instinct was right—the moment he saw it, he dropped the act, grabbed his Farrell Francs, and rushed to buy it with genuine excitement. Seeing that spark of joy and pride in him was a highlight of my year. These prizes have turned our daily lessons into a high-stakes, joyful challenge where every student feels there is something special within their reach.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will serve as the backbone of our classroom management and academic goals for the remainder of the year. My students are now more driven than ever to engage with our literacy units and participate in class discussions to build up their savings. We are currently working on a vocabulary-building project, and the students are proactively hunting for \"bonus words\" in their reading just to get closer to those frisbees and fidget toys. You haven't just sent us \"stuff\"—you've provided a powerful tool that helps me reach every student, and for that, I am so incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1768669348412,"projectUrl":"project/small-prizes-big-progress-refilling-my/10021657/","projectTitle":"Small Prizes, Big Progress: Refilling My 5th Grade Reward Box","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Farrell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3819473_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472430640387","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3819473"},{"teacherId":3819473,"projectId":9221766,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of a classroom globe and a big set of Sharpie markers!\r\n\r\nThe globe has been an invaluable addition to our classroom. They've brought our creative projects to life, allowing us to make big, bright, and beautiful posters that we can proudly display. The students also love using them to label and organize their materials at the beginning of the school year.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly enriched our classroom and provided our students with new tools for learning and creativity.
