Our district is a county-wide, pre-k through 12th grade school, comprised of students from eight neighboring towns. There is an unmistakable small town feel when you enter our building. The support from our community is unbelievable! Our district's music program for band and choir was cut approximately nine years ago due to unfortunate budget cuts. Over the past few years, the majority of the remaining musical equipment has disappeared.
After not having a music program for nearly nine years, our district restarted the program from scratch in January 2019!
With the support of our community, we have been able to raise some funds to purchase items that are desperately needed to run the program. We have around 120 fourth through twelfth grade band students and around 35 junior high and high school choir students! We are all working so hard to make this program amazing once again!!!
My Project
Our district has a large number of students that want to be in band but can not afford to purchase an instrument. Many of these students have chosen to be percussionists and rely on using the instruments available in the music classroom. With that being said, since we have not had a music program for many years, we are lacking instruments for the students to use in class.
Your donation would help provide classroom instruments for students that couldn't afford to purchase them otherwise!
Our students show dedication through being present for rehearsals and events, practicing in class and on their own, and their excitement each day when they enter my classroom!
