Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching writing to second graders is a magical experience, as it's the pivotal year they transition from just sounding out words to becoming true storytellers. There is immense joy in watching them take ownership of their ideas, moving beyond simple sentences to create detailed, imaginative narratives and thoughtful opinion pieces. At this age, their natural curiosity and energy shine through, often resulting in eager writers who want to share their work—or even write during recess.

It is an honor to witness them gain confidence, take creative risks, and find their unique voice.

I love listening to them read me their stories and I can't wait to see how their writing continues to grow as they become older.
