Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are third graders living in an impoverished area of South Los Angeles. They are always energetic, inquisitive, respectful and willing to listen and learn. They enter my classroom every day with the desire and positive attitude to succeed.
My students are always eager for challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
In today's challenging health and technology environments, it is crucial that all students have the opportunities to feel safe and use technology in the classroom to achieve their full potential. Too often, my students lack access to health and technology resources and are unable to demonstrate their full knowledge of course material. To reach their full potential during everyday instruction and classroom practice, it is imperative that students consistently have access to health and technology and other materials that will allow them to advance academically. Help me make a difference for my students!
My students need the environment that helps them feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn. This is why I also try to develop a classroom environment that allows my students to learn in a positive, clean setting.
My Project
Reading instruction is the most important part of the day. This is the time where grade level skills and standards like questioning and identifying main ideas in a passages are taught. In order to ensure all students are accessing lessons, students are grouped for small group instruction.
Small group instruction is the best way to reach all students' reading needs.
I need leveled books, flashcards and workbooks to help my students learn the skills to master reading in the classroom and at home. With these small group reading resources my students will get closer to reaching grade level standards.
