My Project

My students spend much of their day in classrooms without windows. Our school is over 35 years old. My classroom happens to be in a portable with windows, next to the savannas and a dying area of grass.

These benches will offer an incentive for students to enjoy outdoor seating when they are on task and or have completed tasks.

Additionally, they will provide a safe space to find some peace and quiet, rest and calming space for emotional support or somewhere to enjoy lunch away from the crowd of 1,000 students at the cafeteria. (The windows from my classroom and that of other teachers in the portables will enable us to supervise kids inside and outside of the classroom.)
