My Students

Kindergarten is a special place; it's one of the first stepping stones to a students' educational career. Everything is new: the school, teachers, schedules, classmates, activities, and school traditions. Our kindergartners are also learning how to become students. We believe that kindergarten is a year of play and exploration.

All year we explore what type of learners we are, what we like to learn about, and how we learn best.

We want to create a learning environment that not only maximizes students' voice and choice, but maximizes and supports all learning styles as well!

My Project

All students learn differently, and we need a classroom environment that will support all learners. A classroom with a variety of work space options is ideal for students to explore what works best for them. Do they like to sit, kneel, stand, or move their bodies while working? Students need to try for themselves to find out!

Students will use the floor seats and cushions to sit on the floor, or use bouncy chair bands on their chair to move their legs while working.

Research shows that flexible seating is beneficial for young learners. It increases physical health, comfort, collaboration between students (portable, any place learning!), and helps students' focus.

With your help, our students can explore and identify how they learn best. Our students move freely between two kindergarten classrooms daily, so your donation to this project will be helping two learning environments!
