It's been a few weeks since the things arrived, and I've only made a handful of books, but they're a huge hit. I love that the kids can take them home, too. We do a lot of teaching about positive behavior through social stories, and it's been fun to see the kids' responses when they open the book and the cartoon characters look like them and their friends. \r\n\r\nThank you for your kindness and generosity! I found a Pete the Cat book on Teachers Pay Teachers that is absolutely amazing, as it comes with three completely different sets of \"response\" cards; so, each time we read the story, the kids have to respond to different questions. For my kids who struggle with language development, they are able to participate in story time in a whole new way.\r\n\r\nI am excited about developing more materials as we go along. The possibilities are endless! A big part of my motivation for this project is that I want to put materials in the kids' hands that they can also use at home. So I need to keep my costs down because each child will get their own book, which can get costly. \r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my little guys and I are going to have a lot of fun developing their language and listening comprehension skills, thus laying the groundwork for a successful transition to Kindergarten.","fullyFundedDate":1761491111491,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-books-for-preschoolers-with/9821495/","projectTitle":"Interactive Books for Preschoolers With Special Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Theresa Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6073218_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753662392220","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/yodaknows"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_80105","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":210,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":93,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"10.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.7,"schoolId":80105,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pine Tree Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pine Tree Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-hampshire/school-administrative-unit-9/pine-tree-elementary-school/80105"}
