Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My student body consists of approximately 150 students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The racial makeup of my students is 95% African-American. A majority of my students come from homes where parents do not have a college education.

It is the objective of the school to ensure that the students are on the path to being college and career ready by the time they leave middle school.

However, this is quite difficult because many of the students are reading two to three grade levels below the national average. In order to create greater opportunities for success, we strive to create challenging and engaging lessons which students find exciting.

My Project

My students love completing projects. They implement art throughout their curriculum. For example, they use iPads to produce musicals, presentations, and other art projects. However, they are not able to create projects that represent their full potential. These products will magnify their creative talents.

They will use the stylus pens to create art projects in pages, in keynote, and notes.

They will be able to draw pictures and accentuate minute details and colorings to make their projects come to life. Students will use the microphone and bluetooth speaker to present their projects to their fellow classmates, other members of the student body, faculty, and parents.
