Mrs. Lowenhar from Greenlawn NY is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Singer/Songwriters in the Making!

Help me give my students the experience of playing an instrument. Due to COVD-19 we have to double the quantity of ukeleles in my music class so kids aren’t sharing ukeleles with each other. Thanks for considering us.

My Students

My students are seventh grade general music students who are excited about getting an opportunity for a hands on music experience. They love creating, playing and listening to many different kinds of music and develop such a sense of pride and accomplishment from playing and composing music on the ukelele.

My Project

Every student leaves my classroom playing what is often their first instrument. Ukeleles allow students to easily play a variety of popular songs and even write their own! The kids absolutely love it! This upcoming school year, we will need to provide a ukelele for each of my 7th graders if they are to be able to continue to this engaging experience amid the current pandemic. Sharing instruments will no longer be permitted due to safety.

Students learn chord progressions, perform for their peers, parents, community and often gain a love of music that lasts a lifetime.
