Every student leaves my classroom playing what is often their first instrument. Ukeleles allow students to easily play a variety of popular songs and even write their own! The kids absolutely love it! This upcoming school year, we will need to provide a ukelele for each of my 7th graders if they are to be able to continue to this engaging experience amid the current pandemic. Sharing instruments will no longer be permitted due to safety. Students learn chord progressions, perform for their peers, parents, community and often gain a love of music that lasts a lifetime.
