Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our 7th grade Life Science class is an ESOL inclusion group including students from around the world with various language proficiency levels in a lower income region of our county.

When studying various topics in our class, it is helpful to our ESOL students to have grade appropriate materials to aid in their learning.

Alvin Silverstein writes easy to read, high interest, concise science books appropriate for the age group in our class. A classroom library making such books easily available to the group will make their learning easier.

Your support will allow students struggling to learn Science concepts, while overcoming the barriers of also learning a second language, to find success in an interesting but difficult subject.
