This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting two Miko Mini AI-Powered Smart Robots to introduce social robotics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to our iTech AI Innovation Lab. These compact, expressive robots use real-time computer vision, voice recognition algorithms, and conversational AI models to navigate environments and engage dynamically with humans.

In our Applied Cybersecurity and CSIT pathways, students will use these units as physical study models for human-computer interaction (HCI), edge audio processing, and consumer-facing artificial intelligence.

Students will evaluate how the robots process speech, map rooms with sensors, and manage live data streams.

As artificial intelligence shifts toward ambient, conversational interfaces in both consumer products and industrial workplaces, our dual-enrollment juniors and seniors need to understand what happens under the hood. For our rural students, interacting with real-world conversational robots demystifies how voice assistants, autonomous agents, and smart sensors operate in everyday environments.

These robots serve as a multidisciplinary learning tool across our campus:

- Applied Cybersecurity: Students conduct privacy audits, assess microphone/camera permissions, analyze Wi-Fi transmission packets, and design hardening policies for voice-activated IoT endpoints.

- CSIT & Software Development: Students dissect natural language processing (NLP) pipelines, studying how speech-to-text algorithms and AI response models function in real time.

- Campus-Wide Cross-Training: Students in administrative and trade programs observe how social robots and automated customer-interface systems are implemented in retail, healthcare, and service environments.

Your donation equips rural Florida’s future tech leaders with the hands-on understanding needed to responsibly deploy, program, and secure the next generation of conversational AI.
