My Students

My students are a group of 1st graders who are amazing young readers, writers, storytellers, and artists. They are excited about learning through reading and writing.

My students are English language learners that come from low socioeconomic families.

They have limited access to technology at home. The experiences that they have in the classroom allow them to grow and prepare for the future.

Many of our students don't have access to stable environments where they can read or write at home. I want to see all my students grow into 21st century learners, so I strive to give them all the support that I can.

My Project

Every student deserves a chance to show their thinking in the classroom. The whiteboards that I am asking for will allow my student this opportunity.

Showing what they know.

By having these new whiteboards for math they can show how they solved the problem and show me what they know or where they need help. When only one student at a time shares an answer the other students don't try as hard.

All students new that chance to show they know how to solve a problem not just the students willing to volunteer to answer the questions.

These whiteboards will also help them practice writing words based on their letter sounds.
