My Project

In our music classroom, books are more than just stories—they are gateways to understanding musicians, cultures, and the meaning behind the music we create. I am requesting a display bookshelf to organize and highlight our growing collection of music-themed literature, including biographies and storytelling resources. This shelf will make a difference by giving students easy access to books, encouraging independent exploration and creating a visually inviting space where literacy and music connect. When books are displayed front-facing, students are far more likely to engage with them, sparking curiosity and deeper learning.

This display bookshelf will transform how my students interact with reading in the music room.

My goal is to build a classroom environment where students naturally gravitate toward books, make connections between stories and music concepts, and feel inspired by the lives of musicians. With this setup, I can integrate more meaningful read-alouds, student choice reading, and cross-curricular lessons that combine literacy, history, and music. It will also allow me to highlight “Musician of the Month” features and keep our learning fresh and engaging.

My students are creative, curious, and love discovering new ideas—especially when they can see and explore them independently. Many of them light up when they recognize an instrument, a song, or a familiar artist in a book. This bookshelf will help celebrate their love of learning, give them ownership of their exploration, and create a space where every student feels inspired to dream big through music and reading.
