This means my students are receiving targeted, purposeful lessons that build real skills—not just screen time.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is how interactive and meaningful the activities are. The themed units bring learning to life, allowing students to explore topics they love while practicing early writing skills through drawing, dictation, and simple sentences. They are especially enthusiastic about hands-on components like graphic organizers, crafts, and storytelling prompts that make writing feel fun and achievable.\r\n\r\nI've seen several students, particularly those who were hesitant to write or struggled with expressing their ideas, truly come alive with these materials. We have painted huge flowers and flower vase compositions to mimic the artistic talents of Henri Matisse. We have made oceans for sea turtles, leaves for caterpillars and countless other masterpieces.\r\nNES artists have also been using brushes to glaze all their stunning ceramic pieces. For instance fifth grade made piggy banks, fourth sculpted aquariums while third made flowers and pocket pots. Second grade really went over the top with cat sculptures including a designed room for them to live in.
