Music is sometimes the only positive influence in my childrens' lives! They are a passionate and exciting group to work with, but we don't always have all the funds we need to become a sucessful orchestra.

I have been lucky enough to work for a school that can provide free instruments to the majority of my studens, but that is it- after that we are on our own! I teach middle school orchestra in a school that is lower income and 75% of they students are on free/reduced lunch. BUT, they are not poor in spirit! We have raised community awareness by performing on the streets, raised money for tee shirts (which they designed), and compose our own music to cut down on music purchasing costs- They are a motivated group! What I am asking for are some supplies to keep a competitive edge on the other orchestras in the area that already have this essential equipment.

When every violin/ viola student uses a shoulder rest they are more likely to have better posture, improved technique, less pain, and a better experience playing their instrument.

I want my kids playing music for the rest of their lives! I start them in middle school with the proper equipment and technique, they are challenged to excel in high school, scholarship money can be granted to those who perform in their college orchestras, and a love and appreciation for music is passed down to their kids, making a more fulfilling life for everybody!
