The kids were seriously all smiles and laughs as they did this activity. They gained a great understanding of how the muscles in the uterus have to work in order to push out the baby. It was a great model of the female reproductive system, and the kids had a blast finding out if they got a boy or girl and picking out names. The ball would pop out and they would all shout \"It's a girl!\" or \"It's a boy!\" Many great conversations were started from this activity and students were questioning why it took theirs so long to come out, but others not so much. They wanted to complete it a couple of times so each person could have a turn pushing the \"baby\" all of the way out. \r\nThank you for providing our students with a great model and activity to complete to really learn how the muscular system works with the female reproductive system to help move the baby through the birth canal. This body system is usually awkward for this age group, but this activity made it more fun than awkward for them. It allowed them to really make the connections I was hoping for and was a great way to finish out this system. Several Chromebook charges are broken, lost, or misplaced and the cost for replacement for my learners makes it difficult for many of my students to replace them. \"Restoring Our Resources,\" gives me the ability to keep a classroom set (as soon as I get thirty of these) for learners as they come into the classroom. My students now know that they can get their Chromebooks charged up as they walk into my classroom. \r\n\r\nThe excitement is in knowing that no matter what, our learners know that they can participate in an equal learning environment regardless of wear and tear on their equipment and or devices. The kids have loved using them to gather real time data. I had students last year that tested one of the labs that I was revamping that had done it the original way. They definitely loved seeing the results on the screen and being able to compare their results from the lab in their lab book to the results from the sensors and seeing how accurate or inaccurate their results were. They even discussed why they may have gotten those results. They also saw when they pushed the car instead of just releasing the car and were able to adapt their release style accordingly to get more accurate results each time. Thank you for bringing these into my classroom for students to be able to learn from their errors and troubleshoot the problems. I purchased a cover for the cart to protect them even more when not in use, so all we have to do now is remove the cover, release the brakes, and steer them where they need to go.
