Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our Middle School, our media students work hard to create a positive and engaging school culture through videos, live events, spirit activities, and campus productions. This project will help us continue building those experiences by providing inflatable character costumes and replacement equipment that bring excitement, creativity, and school spirit to our campus.

The costumes in this project — including shark and bumble bee inflatable suits — are used in student-created productions, spirit events, school competitions, and fun campus activities that help students feel connected to school.

These activities are more than entertainment; they give students opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, communication, and media production skills in a hands-on environment.

The replacement battery packs and cooling fans are just as important as the costumes themselves. Because these costumes are used frequently throughout the school year, parts wear out quickly and need to be replaced to keep the costumes safe, functional, and ready for student use. Without replacement equipment, many of these costumes can no longer be used during productions and events.

With ongoing budget cuts impacting schools across our district, many enrichment activities and creative programs increasingly rely on outside support and personal funding from teachers. This project will help ensure our students can continue participating in memorable school experiences that make middle school exciting, engaging, and fun while keeping creativity alive on our campus.
