Share Books, Share Knowledge

My students need 40 books teen literature, such as Mick Harte Was Here, to start a book club.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Please keep the momentum in my classroom going! I love to read and want to instill the love of reading to my students. What better way then to start a book club?

My students are in the 7th grade, in my English Language Arts class, and are special needs students.

My students also live in a low income neighborhood in New York. Most of them have never been to a public library and do not like to read, so by stocking my classroom library with interesting novels can only expand their knowledge and love of books. Finding interesting topics and story lines to immerse themselves in, I feel will increase their chance of reading all the time.

My Project

With these books, I hope to start a book club in my special needs classroom. By teaching them plot, action, dialog, and character traits using these high interest low level novels I feel that that my students will absorb the knowledge that is important to be a great reader and better student.

By making this thoughtful and grateful donation, you will be feeding the minds as well as building confidence with my special needs students by proving that reading builds knowledge.
