My Students

My students are resilient and persevere every day through hardships and obstacles to come to school. They are intelligent, strong, optimistic and work hard to create a better future for themselves and that makes me proud to be their teacher.

My Project

Reading and literacy is crucial for the stability, enrichment and enhancement of today's youth. It is a necessary skill that must be taught with great ferver, along with strong critical and analytical thinking skills. The building of my classroom library will provide a variety of genres for students to engage in and enjoy, all while gaining the tools needed to become literate high functioning adults.

My classroom library will provide students with a plethora of diverse material, both fiction and nonfiction, and allow them to take personal responsibility in their own education and independence.

This in turn grants them the opportunity to learn about the world around them through written word. My aspiration is to continue to grow this library to include titles from all genres, so that students may come to appreciate the value in not only literacy, but the connections that can be made from engaging in the beauty that accompanies reading a text.
