This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These pirate themed incentives will help my students find the "treasure" of learning and hard work. Students will be doing multiple activities to help review for their upcoming STAAR test.

Students can earn these incentives for their hard work and using their strategies on this STAAR review unit.

They will earn a pirate prize such as treasure, inflatable swords, eye patches, treasure chests and other prizes. Once the unit is complete, students will be ready to pillage and plunger the STAAR test.

This pirate themed review has proven in the past to help be successful on STAAR.

The reason is because students are having fun with learning. Students love to dress as a pirate and earn treasures. Without these incentives, the students wouldn't be nearly as excited. These incentives will help even the most reluctant student be willing to work hard.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
