My Project

I plan to read the book "One Word for Kids" to my 5th graders! Then we will do an activity where they create a Google Slideshow to explain why they choose their one word for the year. They will find a picture that represents their word, define their word and what it means to them, and a quote that speaks to them.

Next, students will design and create a piece of jewelry with their one word to wear to remind them of the intention that they've set.

This intention can be something that they strive to be such as "fearless" or the thing about themselves that they admire most such as "grateful" or "enthusiastic". This word can change their perspective or help them get through a rough day. I have a My Intent bracelet with the word, illuminate, and I adore it. It reminds me to be my best and to shine a light on those around me. I am hoping that this experience can do the same thing for my students. Thank you for your consideration.
