This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in the Cotati Rohnert Park School District, I am so grateful to work with some of the most honest, beautiful, and humble students. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are amazing, clever, and some of the most hilarious humans I have ever met.

They like to be super active, they love to make me giggle, and love lots of positive attention. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I focus on things I can control... I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire my kiddos to continue on a path to educational success both in and outside our classroom community.

My Project

We are often overwhelmed and over-stimulated by the amount of LOVE we receive from our constant visitors and friends coming through to see us. Though my students thrive on positive interactions and the constant attention, sometimes it is super overwhelming for my students and we just need breaks & some relaxation!

With the help of sensory tools and instruments, my students constantly seek out ways to self soothe.

Things like play dough, sensory beads, and noodles are great and effective ways to help us stay calm and focused when we are trying to learn. There are so many distractions throughout the day, that simple tools such as these are easy ways to help us stay calm, cool, & collected.

We love to learn in C-3. These tools will help us to be the best learners we can be!
