They immediately wanted to know when they could earn a treat and what they needed to do to earn one. It has been wonderful to see students motivate one another and celebrate each other's successes.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using the candy as positive reinforcement while we work on completing assignments, staying focused, participating in lessons, and building independence. The Pop-Tarts give my students access to a quick breakfast or snack when they come to school hungry or need a little extra energy during the day. When students are hungry, it can be difficult to focus, participate, and complete their work, so having snacks available helps remove one small barrier to learning.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the Pop-Tarts, they were incredibly excited! Many students immediately asked if they could have one and were grateful to know that there would be snacks available when they needed them.\r\n\r\nWe will continue keeping the Pop-Tarts available for students throughout the school year. Our goal is to make sure students feel supported, cared for, and ready to learn each day. Thank you for helping provide something so simple but meaningful for our classroom. They were all eager to open and use the materials during class. My students especially loved drawing with the dot markers. During one lesson, they worked on their fine motor skills grasping the dot markers to make dots inside a circle coloring in a rainbow. They also enjoyed playing with the board games during earned free choice time. These board games allowed many of my students to socialize with their peers and learn about sharing, turn taking and the importance of following the rules. \r\n\r\nNext month, we plan to use the molding clay to create a potted flower that students can gift to their mom or loved one's for Mother's day, while working on their motor planning and fine motor skills. Again, thank you for providing my students with the materials to thrive this year. Students worked collaboratively to design great hand made book bags, developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and perseverance as they move from planning to completion.\r\n\r\nBeyond the crafting itself, the project became a meaningful community building experience. Students who had never worked together before, formed new friendships, supported one another, shared materials and ideas and took pride in helping their peers succeed. The club space was consistently filled with excitement, focus and positive energy.\r\nThis project became the largest and most engaging event of our craft club hosted so far. Student enthusiasm remained high throughout the two weeks and many expressed how proud they were to use or give something they made themselves. It is amazing how much more confident students feel when they can control their learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe fidgets have also been incredibly helpful for students who need something small to keep their hands busy while they listen and think. I have been able to use it in so many different ways and have used it to motive my students. They were very excited when they walked in a saw it and I am not utilizing it to help support them and motivate them to work in the classroom in order to take pictures.\r\n\r\nMy students use the photobooth to create memories with each other. They are able to take pictures together and are able to keep these memories for as long as they can. The photobooth takes pictures and will print out stickers that they are able to print and stick to their binders or computers to take the memories with them.
