Sensory Tools for a Self-Contained Classroom

Help me give my students the sensory items needed so they can learn to self-regulate their emotions.

My Project

I teach in a self contained adaptive middle school aged class. All of my students have multiple disabilities. Most of my students are non-verbal and working to learn how to control and regulate their emotions.

Emotions are hard for everyone to regulate, especially students with disabilities.

The pod swing will my students to swing and calm down when excited or upset. The donut seat will give my students flexibility and allow them to wiggle as they work. The calming lights will allow us to turn the overhead lights off and have calming lights on in the room. The lights can be adjusted to fit the students' moods and help them calm down.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
