The students in my classroom just need an little extra boost in life. These students are case managed and sometimes are non verbal. I work with these students to give them the extra boost, and some will be able to go to gen ed for kindergarten. My students love sticker Thursdays and learning new skills such as working with scissors. Their imagination is always exciting to see as they play in small groups and independently. I hope we have the best year yet!
My Project
In our classroom we use a lot of non-traditional ways of learning. We adapt a lot of lessons to be games or other hands on activities. For example we have a giant number line that we put out on the floor for math lessons, I write the equations on the board and they jump or walk out he problem and then write it on their paper.
Through the use of playdoh my students will have more options to explore lessons other than just paper and pencil.
Through the use of playdoh , bubbles and stickers they can model the dough into math problems, make manipulates to go with problems, make stories, and practice spelling just to name a few things that could be done with them.
