I teach in a Regional ED Program serving students with emotional disabilities. My students have unique strengths and challenges. My students are so much more than their disability or behavior. They are working diligently to learn and implement strategies to regulate their emotions.
My students are some of the most amazing children I have ever met.
They are gifted and have the utmost potential. They have unique needs that I along with my teammates work tirelessly to meet. I believe in my students and I know they will succeed against all odds!
My Project
I teach in a Regional ED Program which supports students with emotional disabilities. Our students have unique challenges and the overwhelming theme is emotional regulation. These sensory items will assist students with focus and oftentimes are a calming agent that assists students with using the taught strategies to regulate their emotions. These sensory items will assist students with emotional regulation and will help increase their availability for learning. The putty has been used as a fidget students keep in their hands when they need something to hold. Students use the putty to provide the stimulation they need. The headphones cancel out excessive noise and the exercise balls provide flexible seating that meets the unique needs of our students.
