My Project

One thing I love about my position is that I get to prepare my students to move on to middle school next year.

Most of our students have been at this school since Kindergarten, making it the only school they have known for the past 7 years.

As the end of the year creeps closer and closer, our students start to realize the place they have known for so long, their safe space, their teachers that have loved them and helped them learn, will now be left behind as they move on to middle school

A range of emotions start to flood from happy, excited, nervousness, and sadness. There are usually tears, but we just remind them they are ready for this, and we send them on their way.

We always host a small "graduation" type of ceremony and I would like to send them off with a bag of items to bring a smile to their face and give them some fun memories of their elementary school days such as a book, a stress ball, and some bubbles.

We still have a few months to go and I know we will get them ready for middle school next year and send them off with a smile.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
