Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For this project, I am requesting various blank cards, cardstock, and supplies like glue and washi tape for students to make cards for residents at the local assisted living facility. Students will create cards to send cheer to the residents in an effort to promote mental health wellness. They will use the supplies for the design and then learn how to write and address a card. I am community working with the assisted living center to arrange a time for students to visit and personally deliver the cards, as part of our ongoing community service outreach.

This activity will help students connect literature and art while sending cheer and goodwill to the community.
