Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all great individuals that have such great desire to keep learning and becoming better people. My students are all very hard working youth and that is something I can see through their written assignments and it is also reflected in the way they carry themselves. Our school is located in a low income area and its mission is college for all, no exceptions. These children do the best with what they have at all times and it is my greatest desire to see them thrive in high school and eventually into college.

Some of my kids have to get dropped off at the school earlier than usual because their parents have to head to work to put food on their plates.

These children and their families go above and beyond to make education possible. I truly admire each and everyone of them for their distinct characteristics and abilities. They all have amazing future ahead of them and I am thrilled I get to be a part of that.

My Project

As a government and politics teacher, the topics we cover are controversial thought provoking, and debatable. As a teacher, I encourage my students to critically elaborate a well develop argument for their opinions and be ready for their defense. I create an atmosphere of respect and learning while allowing every student to share their thoughts over what is being discussed.

With the help of this GoPro Max 360 camera, I will use to assess students public speaking skills and content knowledge as well as providing them to see themselves and their peers debate and speak to better their delivery.

Not only will they be able to see themselves debate but also use this camera for future projects where they get to effectively analyze their speech and improve their communication.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
