My Students

I work with students with special needs. My students are compassionate, thoughtful and full of wonder! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and experiences that allow them to grow socially and academically.

My students are learning many functional life skills to becoming independently functioning adults.

They inspire me to be my very best self every day and to find joy in all things.

Most of my students come from low-income families and do not make it out of our rural community. When they see new things and places they are filled with excitement, awe, and wonderment.

My Project

As part of our curriculum, we teach daily life and functional skills to our students. This includes hygiene, first aid, and grooming along with many other skills.

Most of my students need to learn skills to live independently or in a group home after graduation.

They need to be able to take care of basic needs.

WE can use the first aid kits to teach students how to treat minor medical emergencies on themselves and others. The toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and deodorant will be used to teach grooming and hygiene. Each student will be able to take their own supplies home.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
