Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26 second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is reflected by our 97% free and reduced-price lunch rate.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are eager learners! They enjoy learning in small group blended learning stations. Many of my students are below grade level in Reading and need additional supports to work at grade level.
Having exciting hands on materials to help my students learn their sight words will be a game changer in the classroom!
My students would enjoy the ThinkFun Zingo Sight Word game, Spelligator Game, Splat Card Game, Sight Word Flash Card games, Swat a Word Game and Pint Size Pizza Board Game at reading centers daily. Having these exciting games to play will allow my students to practice their sight words while having FUN!
My students need practice with sight words from kindergarten and Grade 1 to be able to master those words. In addition the Grade 2 sight word cards and games will allow them practice with grade level words to work on mastery. Having students practice sight words daily will allow them to build confidence in knowing these words and will enable them to start to read confidently on their own! I want to build confident lifelong readers and learners! These materials would be a great addition to our classroom.
