As the day begins, the children enter the classroom eager to begin learning. They especially enjoy their time with the rhyming houses, puzzles, and bingo! When the headphones arrived it felt like Christmas morning to my students. They were so excited to be able to unpackage them and use them for their educational programs. They were so grateful to have headphones that weren't broken, like many of the ones that were left over from the year before were.\r\n\r\n Amira is a program that I use in my English Language Development class and it requires that students speak into the computer. Headphones with microphones made this program much easier for my students. The students also take a test called WIDA ACCESS that tests their ability to read, write and speak in English. They will be taking this test in January and I am grateful that they will have the tools they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nThe students also use a program called i-Ready. This program helps them develop their comprehension and basic English skills. It is an interactive and adaptive program that meets the students at their level.
