See Science

My students need 5 supplies to aid them in viewing scientific materials that will help them explore and discover science in a hands on approach. To grasp weather and stars we need an easy view telescope. For smaller objects we need a class set of 36 hand magnifiers and a zoom scope microscope. Furthermore we need a Geodes Discovery Set and 24 safety goggles to protect our little eyes while we experiment.

I teach in a high need area with little support for anything not literacy. Our county focuses primarily on reading therefore supplies in Science are a low priority. I love to teach students science and they are so eager and interested in learning about science. However, much of science is small and can not be viewed with the naked eye.

We are studying science all year long and are currently learning all about rocks and minerals. By themselves they are boring, but with just a little help of a lens or a magnifying tool students are intrigued to learn more and explore deeper into the subject area. I love to teach and enrich my students world by giving them the in-depth look at the world of science. I only have 3 magnifying lenses that we share at present. All want to look at their special rock under a lens to get a better view. To continue enhancing their enthusiasm I am asking for anything that will help us bring the science to light and view it on a larger scales so that all students remain interested and really dive into the smaller aspects of this fabulous world.

By receiving the handheld lenses we will not only satisfy the curiosity of our rocks and minerals, but they will also be used for any other science experiment that we will conduct this year and in the years to come. Students are so excited when they get to integrate technology and the telescope will help with our daily weather analysis and any celestial viewings. Additionally the Zoom scope will help even for the whole class to view any interesting specimen on the television. Students are so curious about seeing things up close that any view support will enhance their understanding and support their enjoyment of the materials studied and explored.

By supporting or financing this project you will give my students the power to explore and see what they would normally not be able to see. The telescope, lenses and zoom would give them a chance to satisfy their curiosity and develop an understanding of the world around them through scientific exploration. You would give them eyes with with to see the world as they have never viewed it. You would make it possible for my students to see all there is to see.
