This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The English language is absolutely hard to understand no matter the age of the person learning it. The vowels and consonants can change and make so many sounds, it's challenging for anyone to learn. My bilingual kinder students need more than just simple lessons to effectively register and comprehend the rules for reading and writing. As a kinder teacher, I will always differentiate to meet their growing needs. Secret Stories caters to all levels of learning and provides fun and engaging pictures and stories for all the rules of the English language.

The Secret Stories program will help students understand and learn why certain letter and letter teams make the sounds they do!

Secret Stories is a multisensory phonics approach rooted in the science of reading! It is a fun and silly way to teach students the relationships between sounds and spelling. Secret Stories is an amazing resource that dives deeper into phonics skills. I would love to provide these resources in my classroom because it supports all students in the areas of reading, writing, and spelling. Secret Stories is a great tool because it hits different modalities of learning

In this project, I have resources to display around my classroom for students to view and I also added individual resources that can be taken and used anywhere learning can happen. The small flashcards will come in handy for small groups and for students to use as part of their hands-on learning.
