My students are first graders. We are in a Title I school where money is tight. Teachers often have to supply the needed learning materials.
My students love to learn, but they often are not very confident students, so I strive to provide them with lots and lots of hands-on materials to make reading and math accessible to them.
It's a joy for them to have that light-bulb moment when they discover that they can do something that once felt difficult.

My Project
Being 1st graders, my students need to move around throughout their learning day.
These stools, bands, and lap desks will allow them to sit in different areas of the room and to move around without bothering other students.
Wobble stools can be used at desks or tables and allow the students to rock around without falling over like they do when they are sitting on chairs. This gives their hips the movement they were created to have! The bands will help students who choose a chair but need to bounce or move their feet. Lap desks will allow the students to work in any space in the room, including stretched out on the carpet.
