I am the school social worker and educate the best students that are full of passion, love and are so smart. Each of these students come from different backgrounds and experiences. As the school social worker my job is to engage all of the students at our school , to support them through their personal struggles, help them reach their individual goals, and to always help them feel successful even on their hardest days.
My Project
So many of our students at our school struggle to maintain attention, being comfortable in their own bodies while sitting at a standard desk chair completing independent work and feeling confident while participating in carpet time learning activities; this is something I want to change! By donating to this project you will give students the option of different seating choices that they can use in place of their assisted classroom chair, which will help them to increase their attention, decrease over stimulation and help them to succeed each day in their learning.
Last school year so many students struggled with new safety regulations that were put into place due to the pandemic which limited movement around the classroom and increased the amount of time expected to sit at their desks.
As the new school year begins, I want to offer my student an additional resource to help them feel safe, comfortable, free of distractions during their learning and for their chair to not be a barrier to their academic success... Your help is much appreciated! Thank you!!
