My Project

What I love most about my students is their curiosity, resilience, and excitement for learning—especially when a book truly connects to them. They come to school eager to grow, and many are working hard to build confidence as readers. My classroom is filled with students reading at many different levels, and they thrive when given books that meet them exactly where they are. This variety of leveled holiday books will make a meaningful difference by allowing every child to access texts that feel achievable, engaging, and motivating. Instead of feeling frustrated or left behind, students will be able to successfully practice phonics, comprehension, and fluency using books that are “just right” for them.

These holiday books will be used during small groups, independent reading, and whole-class lessons to support essential literacy skills while also building excitement around reading.

Because the stories reflect the season and a variety of traditions, students will feel represented and connected, which increases engagement and deepens comprehension. My goal for this project is to strengthen reading confidence, promote a love of literacy, and ensure that every student experiences success during the holiday season and beyond. What makes my students special is their determination and willingness to try—even when learning feels challenging. With access to these leveled books, they will be empowered to take risks, celebrate their progress, and continue growing as capable, joyful readers.
