I have been teaching at this school system for 15 years and I plan to stay here until I retire because I love this community. I love working with our students because they are helpful, respectful, and caring.
Out students learn better with hands-on labs and activities.
They love to participate in labs and want to do more this year. They work well together in groups and are good at taking care of class materials. I know they are excited about the possibility of doing more labs this year.
My Project
Facilitating labs is difficult when school budgets are already stretched too thin. Lab materials and lab kits are awfully expensive, so unfortunately our students have not had many lab experiences. Labs are valuable because they are hands-on, incorporate important skills such as problem-solving, and are a way to truly engage students. Labs empower students to really understand the content and see how science is applied.
This year we want to provide our students with more labs because we want to foster an appreciation for science and develop their problem-solving skills.
In order to offer more labs, we need support to purchase lab materials such as owl pellets and planaria.
We want to provide our students with engaging learning experiences that inspire their curiosity and a passion for science. We hope that you will help us make science fun.
