Facilitating labs is difficult when school budgets are already stretched too thin. Lab materials and lab kits are awfully expensive, so unfortunately our students have not had many lab experiences. Labs are valuable because they are hands-on, incorporate important skills such as problem-solving, and are a way to truly engage students. Labs empower students to really understand the content and see how science is applied. This year we want to provide our students with more labs because we want to foster an appreciation for science and develop their problem-solving skills. In order to offer more labs, we need support to purchase lab materials such as owl pellets and planaria. We want to provide our students with engaging learning experiences that inspire their curiosity and a passion for science. We hope that you will help us make science fun.
